o My first transaction with LeaseTrader was in May 2007 when I was looking for a used vehicle. I wanted a late model vehicle but I didn’t have a lot of cash for a substantial down payment and I knew myself well enough (from previous leasing experiences) that I didn’t want a 3-5 year lease – I get bored too easily for long term relationships with vehicles. I did an Internet search and after combing through listings found LeaseTrader. They charged me $24.95 for registering as a buyer, part of which was to run a credit report on me to verify I was able to transact business before I could have access to existing Lessees. • I was able to find a really cool vehicle (Chevy SSR in bright Yellow) that I fell in love with, get it at a ridiculously low price ($350/mo) and pay $600 in transfer fees and $500 to have it shipped to me from Arkansas. It was still under warranty so I didn’t worry too much because I called the dealer who was doing the maintenance work and verified the condition of the vehicle by having the owner bring it to the service department, who I paid to go over it and verify the mechanical and physical condition! This was the most fun and easiest car purchase I had ever made at the time! I did do business with them again and transferred a lease on a Cadillac EXT, flew to Detroit and drove it home after a business meeting. I most certainly will do business with them in the future and I have referred many friends and family to them, as well as become an affiliate of their site! o I have seen a lot of negative reviews on LeaseTrader, but after reading them I realize that the people complaining have not read the FAQs and done their research before they signed on. They are inexperienced and think that for $24.95 they just sit around and wait for someone else to do the work for them, rather than what this site is, which is access to lease vehicles whose owners have paid a fee to list their vehicle and be protected from unqualified inquiries. The FAQs clearly set out what the costs are for and the fees involved in a lease transfer.
